A New Home

Welcome to my new home. My husband and I have spent some time over the past several weeks switching A Mother’s Pace from Blogger to WordPress. We’re here now, so welcome! I’m still learning the ropes so please leave a comment, send an email or tweet me if you see anything that needs attention.

 

My long run of the week was supposed to be a 10 miler and after being on the treadmill all week I was looking forward to getting out and enjoying some fresh air. It was a cold one on Saturday so I put on my layers of running clothes and headed outside.

I didn’t get very far. I took one step onto the sidewalk, slipped on the ice and turned around to go inside. The winter weather had arrived earlier than I thought so my run would be inside instead.

 

Let me tell you that it’s tough to switch gears and unexpectedly head down to the treadmill. That was the hardest 10 miles I’ve ran in a long time. I stopped the treadmill to stretch a few times but I always got back on to finish it out.

This was my first run in my brand new PROCompression shamrock socks. My husband and I both bought a pair to wear for our upcoming St. Patty’s Day race and I couldn’t wait to try them out. They are not as tight as my other compression socks, the CEP brand, but I did enjoy running in them.

Monday: 3 miles (9:06 pace) + 25 minutes JM Circuit 1

Tuesday: Rest Day

Wednesday: 5 miles (8:50 pace) + 20 minutes NTC Leaner Legs + Core Work

Thursday: 5 miles (8:57 pace)

Friday: 3 miles (9:14 pace) + 20 minutes NTC Arm Definer + Core Work

Saturday: 10 miles (9:24 pace) + 15 minutes Leg and Core Work

Sunday: Spin Bike 40 minutes + 10 minutes Core Work

    Congratulations on your transition from Blogger to WordPress! I am so jealous! I don’t think I’ll even CONSIDER doing that for a good long while…just getting this blogging process down is enough work as it is.

    I love your shamrock compression socks. Good luck on your upcoming race. (P.S. so impressed with your 10 mile run on the treadmill. The longest I’ve ever gone is 6 miles and if I remember correctly… it was NOT fun).

    • Thanks, Marnie. It was a pretty easy process but my husband is a computer programmer and helped me A LOT.

      The socks are fun! I’ve never purchased seasonal socks before…they will be fun for the race. Yeah, 10 miles wasn’t so fun but I’m glad that I have the treadmill to get those long runs in when it’s necessary. 6 miles on the treadmill is awesome too! Great job!

    Those are awesome socks! I have a St. Patty’s day race coming up and I wish I would have thought ahead of time and purchased something like those. Congrats on the move to WP. I’ve always wanted to use WP but I just don’t understand how to use it.

    • I definitely haven’t figured out WP entirely but I’m making progress. It was very confusing for me at first too.

      The socks came very quickly in just a few days if you are still wanting to buy them!

    • You are amazing to me. I love all your posts on IG and on your blog about running outside in whatever weather comes your way. I don’t mind running in the snow but I draw the line when it is an ice rink out there! Spring can’t come soon enough as far as I’m concerned! I hope you make it through the winter without any other falls! (yes, knocking on wood!)

    I love the new site! I’m on Blogger and I know I’ll need to make the switch sooner or later. Any tips on what you used to transition? I do see you have space on your footer where you could probably put more links to your site.

    Running the treadmill just 5 miles can be dreadful, let alone 10! This winter has been brutal.

      This winter has been a rough one! I can’t wait for spring but even though it’s March, it seems so far away.

      Thanks for letting me know about the footer. I’m still working on the sidebar, footer and plugins etc. for all these areas but I hadn’t noticed that the footer was asking for content like that. :)

      My biggest tip is that google is your friend. If I couldn’t figure out something I would try google first and my husband second. He helped so much with the whole process. There are so many step by step blog posts out there from people who have already transferred. Our only challenge was getting my comments to transfer since I used the program Intense Debate for comments on Blogger. I noticed on your blog that you don’t use that so you don’t have to worry about it. Hopefully it will go smoothly for you! Good luck!
